5 MAY 2015 – A MASSIVE ARRIVAL

We will be ready to leave in the next few hours.

The last few days has seen a massive arrival of international aid. At the airport, for example, four take-off aircrafts have just arrived. They will join the Nepalese helicopters and those from the Indian army to bring aid to the remote regions. Traffic in Kathmandu is far less than normal. The government estimates that 600 – 800,000 people have left the valley to join their villages and their families.

The Mobile Hospital is meanwhile in its last stages of preparation. This time we have to bring our own shelter under tents and our own food, but also plan for a tented hospital and food for the patients.

We will be ready to leave in the next few hours. Our destination will be determined in agreement with the Ministry of Health who is co-ordinating the international medical teams.
